5 Arrested After Lower Valley Fight

The El Paso County’s Sheriffs Office said five people were arrested after a fight broke out Saturday evening in the Lower Valley.

Sheriff’s deputies said they were called to the 1200 block of Colina De Oro at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in reference to a fight in progress.

The deputies said they found three men at the scene who said another group of men in a green Jeep Cherokee had tried to pick a fight with them near the residence.

The men told deputies they all tried to run away to escape the fight, but one 19-year-old victim was caught by the men in the Jeep. The victim said he was beaten with a brick, rocks and beer bottles.

According to the deputies, the victim played dead in order to end the beating. They said the men that beat him then stole his wallet and drove away in the Jeep. Deputies said the victim had serious injuries, including swelling around his face and body.

Deputies said an assisting constable unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description given by the victim. The Jeep contained five men: Omar Rivera, 33; Jerry Carbajal, 20; Alejandro Soto-Sandoval ,19; and the two Socorro Valley Volunteer Fire Department firefighters, Jorge Sandoval, 22; and Martin Soto-Sandoval, 22.

All five men were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
