County Approves Tax Hike

After making more cuts at the last minute, El Paso County Commissioner’s Court on Monday afternoon adopted a County tax increase of 5.82 percent by a vote of 3-2.

El Paso County Judge Anthony Cobos and County Commissioner Dan Haggerty voted against it.

The increase will amount to a $23 increase in taxes annually for the owner of an average $122,000 home, or less than $2a month.
