El Paso Kindergartner Killed In Juarez

A 6-year-old Canutillo Elementary kindergartner is one of the latest victims of the ongoing violence in Juarez, proving the drug war rages on without discriminating even against the young.

Eileen Armendariz was shot and killed over the weekend along with a 28-year-old man inside a home in Juarez according to Mexican police. Investigators said armed gunmen stormed the house firing at those inside. No motive was given for the shooting and no has been arrested.

Mount Carmel Funeral Chapel in east El Paso told ABC-7 Armendariz’s funeral services, including a prayer, will be held at their chapel on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.

A Canutillo Independent School District spokeswoman said a moment of silence was to be observed in her honor at school on Tuesday. The kindergartner will then buried at the St. Anthony Cemetery in Anthony, New Mexico.
