One Man Arrested After Standoff In Northeast El Paso
One man was arrested early Friday morning after threatening three people with a large dagger-style knife, police said.
Officers from the city?s Northeast Regional Command Center said they received a call about a problem at about 1:30 Friday morning. The officers said when they arrived at the home they found Tommy Cooper, 35, refusing to come out.
Police said they were told Cooper had threatened three victims before their arrival with a large knife. Officers said the three victims had come to help the man after Cooper’s wife called them worried and that he may have been suicidal.
A SWAT and crisis management team were called to negotiate with Cooper, who eventually came out of the home and was arrested. Cooper was booked in to the El Paso County Detention Facility on three counts of aggravated assault, and his bond was set at $15,000.00
