Escobar Defeats Perez In Race For County Judge

County Commissioner Veronica Escobar will be the new El Paso County Judge, defeating Jaime O. Perez.

With early voting numbers and 130 precincts reporting on election day, Escobar had 45,832 votes to 27,643 votes for Perez.

Escobar has been serving as County Commissioner for Precinct 2 since January 2007.

Perez is currently the Chief of Staff for County Judge Anthony Cobos. Cobos decided not to run for re-election.
