City To Recruit For ’11 Police Academy

The El Paso Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Police Trainee starting November 5, 2010 and running through December 3, 2010. These applications are for an academy that is tentatively scheduled to start sometime in June 2011.

The police academy is approximately 6 months long and recruits are paid while attending the academy. Interested applicants can log on to the City’s website at www.elpasotexas.gov and search under “City jobs” with the title Police Trainee.

The applications are completed online. Information on job requirements can be found at www.eppd.org under the employment tab found on the home page.

Veterans of the United States Military may use their GI Bill while attending the academy. An officer’s salary upon graduation from the academy starts at $37,242.98 annually.
