Traffic Stop Leads To Pot Bust
Three people were arrested for allegedly possessing pot after a traffic stop late Tuesday.
At about 10 p.m. Tuesday, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black 2008 Jeep receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle driving in an eastside neighborhood. The Jeep matched the description provided.
Deputies said they made contact with the occupants of the Jeep and noticed the male subjects appeared to be very nervous. Deputies said the search of the Jeep led to the discovery of 237 bundles of marijuana which weighed 250 lbs. The three subjects were taken into custody without incident.
A fully loaded 9mm Beretta handgun was also recovered from underneath the driver’s seat, according to sheriff’s officials.
