Fire investigators spoke with a man and a woman who were seen fleeing the home but are not releasing the resulting information.
Officials say the two were injured in the blaze and were treated at University Medical Center for burns on their hands. Neither are in custody and the man remains in serious condition at Lubbock Burn Unit.
Officials said they are waiting for the residents to return so they can can confirm they are the registered owners of the home.
Officials said the damage is estimated at about $200,000. The ceiling and some walls of the home are completely burned down; only the burned shell of the structure is left standing.
