Ex-El Paso Border Patrol Chief Reassigned From Tucson
The chief of the Border Patrol?s Tucson Sector is being reassigned to El Paso less than a year after he took the post, according to a report in the Arizona Daily Star.
Victor Manjarrez Jr., a Tucson native, became the Tucson Sector chief in February. Manjarrez Jr. was the El Paso Sector chief before taking the Tucson job.
The president of the agents? union in Arizona told the Arizona Daily Star Manjarrez is being reassigned to the agency?s El Paso Sector due to family issues. Prior to coming to Tucson, Manjarrez was the El Paso Sector chief and his family is still there, said Brandon Judd, president of the Border Patrol agents’ union in Arizona, Local 2544.
It is not clear in what job Manjarrez will have in the El Paso Sector because Randy R. Hill is the Chief Patrol Agent in El Paso and Michael Przybyl is the Acting Deputy Chief Patrol Agent, according to information on the El Paso Sector’s leadership from the Border Patrol Website.
