Sun Bowl Won’t Sell Standing-Room-Only Tickets

The Hyundai Sun Bowl sold out in record time, and hopes for extra tickets to be sold won’t be happening.

When this year’s game quickly sold out, Sun Bowl organizers said they would consider selling a limited number of standing room only tickets, like UTEP did when the Miners hosted the Texas Longhorns in 2008.

Sun Bowl executive director Bernie Olivas said standing-room-only tickets won’t be sold for this year’s game.

“Fire code only allows 300 standing room only tickets to be sold and because of the size of the stadium, we thought it would be inconvenient for someone to buy a ticket and not be able to see the game.”

ABC-7 has never fielded a complaint about obstructed views regarding the standing room tickets UTEP sold but the decision has been made.

So, that leaves the resale market if you really want to see the game. Tickets on StubHub and eBay are starting at around 50 bucks, and you might pay as much as $200 for premium locations.
