Report: El Paso Woman Killed In I-25 Crash Argued With Bouncer Before Crash
El Pasoan Kylene Holmes and Jennifer Michelle Belvin were belligerent when a bouncer was telling a 911 operator that the women were “thoroughly intoxicated” and were about to get into a car outside the Cowgirl Hall of Fame bar and restaurant in Santa Fe earlier this month, according to a report in the Albuquerque Journal.
“I don’t know, they’re just arguing,” the bouncer told the operator, recordings released by Santa Fe police on Wednesday reveal. “They’re trying to get in their car and drive away. I just feel that they should not.”
Holmes ended up getting behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima and driving away, with Belvin as a passenger. The bouncer’s call to 911 was placed about 1:35 a.m. Dec. 14, according to call logs. Less than an hour later, Holmes, 27, of El Paso, was killed after she collided head-on with an ambulance on Interstate 25. She was driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes, at speeds of more than 100 mph, for about 20 miles.
