Soldier Shot In Leg

El Paso police said a soldier was shot outside a convenience store on the northeast side of the city, but didn’t realize it until he got into his car.

Eric Lamont Hampton, 27, was hit in the leg.

The incident happened on the 3900 block of Dyer at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hampton told investigators he saw a group of men in the store’s parking lot when he heard gunfire. He drove himself to the hospital.
