When was the last time you went without a shower? Not because you chose to stay in your PJ?s but because you didn?t have running water? That?s what is happening to a lot of El Pasoans during this record breaking cold! It?s okay, don?t stress about not being able to shower! A local dermatologist once told me that Americans are too clean and that?s why we suffer from skin conditions! If you think about it, he?s right! We take hot showers that dry out our skin, and we lather up with anti-bacterial soaps that are heavily perfumed. It?s no wonder that we wash away all the natural oils from our hair and skin. So if didn?t shower today, just think: your skin and hair like the extra oil your body naturally produces! Hopefully your water pipes will thaw in the next few days! Try to stay warm, and if you grew up poor like me, just throw on an extra jacket, an extra pair of socks and warm blanket at home!
