El Paso Man Dies Days After Traffic Crash

El Paso Police said that 41-year-old Carlo Felix, of the 7200 block of J.C. Cramer, has died from injuries suffered from a single vehicle crash on Feb. 18.

The crash occurred in the area of Cesar Chavez Highway East and the Fonseca off ramp. Felix lost control of a 1965 Chevrolet Bel Air and struck a guard rail and several poles, according to police.

Felix was transported to University Medical Center with what were initially believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The Departments Special Traffic Investigations Unit received information that Felix died on Feb. 24. Police say the investigation is ongoing into this crash and at this time it has not been determined if speed or alcohol were factors. It has also not been determined if Felix was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.

This is the 13th traffic related death this year as compared to nine at this time in 2010.
