Ft. Bliss Soldier Charged with Reckless Driving
A 24-year old Fort Bliss soldier is accused of driving over 100mph on Loop 375.
According to El Paso police, Quentin Rogers was driving a 2006 Pontiac on Loop 375 approaching Railroad Drive late Thursday afternoon. An El Paso Police Department officer parked alongside Loop 375 spotted Rogers approaching from the east at a speed of 104 mph. The posted speed for Loop 375 is 65 mph.
The officer also reported that Rogers was “zig-zagging through the lanes of traffic, and passing other motorists.”
Officials say that the officer attempted to stop Rogers, but that he exited the Loop at Railroad Drive then ran the red light at Railroad. Rogers and his vehicle got caught in traffic at Bomarc Street, where the officer was able to place him under arrest.
Rogers was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a reckless driving charge and his bond was set at $300.
