Truck With 1200 Plasma Television Sets Stolen

Socorro Police continue to search for a truckload of plasma television sets that were stolen from a truckstop somtime early Wednesday morning.

Investigators with the Socorro Police Department tell ABC-7 1200 plasma televisions were stolen from the trailer of an 18-wheeler truck that was parked at the Eastside Petro truck stop between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Authorities say the total value of the television sets is approximately $500,000 dollars.

Officials said the driver of the truck, 36-year-old Jesus Fresquez dropped off his truck at the Petro facility just after 7 p.m. Tuesday night. Fresquez reported the truck missing the following morning.

El Paso Police received a signal from a GPS device in the trailer on Wednesday morning. Officers found the trailer parked on North Resler Drive in west El Paso.

Socorro Police investigators were able to lift fingerprints from the trailer and are now following those leads.
