Rapid Rise Of Gas Prices Slows Somewhat In Texas; Find Cheapest Prices In El Paso
Rapidly rising gas prices have slowed somewhat in Texas.
The weekly AAA Texas gasoline price survey released Thursday says the average price of regular unleaded gas increased by a penny to $3.76 in the past week.
The agency says the slight jump ended a monthlong streak of increases of at least 10 cents per gallon. The average price of gasoline in Texas is $1.01 higher than it was a year ago.
Houston had the biggest increase at 3 cents per gallon. The most expensive gas among the 11 cities surveyed is $3.79 in Dallas and Fort Worth. The least expensive is San Antonio at $3.68.
State prices are generally 20 cents shy of record levels from the summer of 2008.
The national average is $3.84.
