El Pasoans Hope For More Rain

El Paso’s dark skies brightened spirits in the borderland Wednesday.

“I love the rain,” said Dustin Churchman. “It feels so nice to finally get a little bit of water in the desert.”

Raindrops sprinkled throughout the West side, which left some wanting more. “It was beautiful. I just wish we had more rain, it just kind of flew over us,” said Danny Amaya.

Other El Pasoans were just happy to see rain at all. “With hundred degree weather, any kind of rain is nice!” said Churchman.

El Paso broke a 118-day drought Wednesday. Churchman said the change in the skies made for a change in the streets due to the rainy roadways. “It’s kind of funny cause a lot of the drivers are a little more cautious,” he said.

ABC-7 spotted slick streets on the East side, too. We also spoke with folks who had high hopes for more moisture throughout the county.

“I just hope we have some more rain because we need it. It’s kind of dry here, especially at my house where my trees and shrubs are all kind of dry. Some of this rain might help it out,” said Amaya.
