Man Is Tasered Outside East El Paso County Strip Club

A 25-year-old man was tasered by El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies early Thursday morning outside an East El Paso County strip club.

At about 2:23 a.m., deputies were called to the parking lot of the Dreams Cabaret in the 13000 block of Gateway West reference a disturbance. Deputies arrived on scene to find a male subject lying on the ground bleeding from the face.

Sheriff’s officials said that as deputies attempted to speak and help the subject to find out who had just assaulted him, they noticed he was highly intoxicated. The subject, Wesley Castaneda, then allegedly became violently uncooperative and combative towards deputies, according to sheriff’s officials.

The subject allegedly attempted to assault deputies by kicking them and was tasered. Castaneda allegedly continued being aggressive by resisting arrest as he was taken into custody, according to sheriff’s officials.

Castaneda was placed under arrest for resisting arrest and public intoxication. He was booked at the El Paso County Jail Annex under a $1,250 total bond.
