Naked Man Tasered, Arrested In East El Paso

El Paso police said a nude man was tasered and arrested Friday night after assaulting one officer and spitting on another.

Investigators said it began around 8:30 with a call about an “indecent exposure” on the 3400 blk. of Running Deer in east El Paso.

Police said when they arrived, Donovan Vargas, 36, was standing next to a truck in front of a home.

After refusing to answer questions, Vargas got into the truck, according to investigators.

Officers on the scene said they then called for backup when the man refused to come out of the vehicle and show his hands.

Police said as they pulled Vargas from the truck, he struck a male officer in the face with his hand and spat on a female officer.

Officers used a taser to subdue Vargas and placed him under arrest.

Vargas was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of Assault on a Public Servant and Harassment of a Public Servant.
