Firefighters Contain Huge Brush Fire In Clint Overnight

Fire crews from at least six east El Paso County towns battled a huge, smokey fire along the 12000 block of Alameda in Clint.

The fire was first reported around 9:30p.m. Thursday night. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Department tells ABC-7 that the fire started in some dry brush, in a field near of the town of Clint.

Deputies say that 2 structures near the fire were evacuated as a precaution, but no injuries have been reported and no homes were damaged.

The Fire was 100 percent contained by about 2:20 Friday morning.

At about 1:20 a.m. Friday, a separate blaze engulfed a home out near the intersection of Horizon and North Loop in Socorro. Fire crews battling the Clint brush fire were sent out to Socorro to help put out the blaze.

Socorro fire officials say the blaze the vacant home is a total loss. No injuries were reported.
