CBP Agents Seize 1,000 Pounds of Marijuana

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers confiscated more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana during the weekend.

The largest bust came on Sunday at the Bridge of the Americas, where agents found 440 pounds of the drug in a bus. During examination, a drug-sniffing dog alerted agents to the inside floor area of the bus. They drilled into the floor compartment producing a green substance that tested positive for marijuana. In all, there were 390 bundles weighing 440 pounds.

“Our CBP officers not only carry out our agency’s critical mission of securing our borders but continue to make these impressive interceptions of dangerous narcotics at the ports of entry. These officers continue to impress me with their efforts and enforcement actions that produce these cases,” said Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso Port Director.

No arrested were made. The investigation is ongoing.
