NM State Police: Driver Hits Two Cars, Dies Along With Passenger

A motorist rear-ended a vehicle on Saturday, fled the scene, then hit another car and died, along with a passenger, accoording to New Mexico State Police.

It happened Saturday a little before noon near Watson and Main Street. State Police Spokesman Tim Johnson said there were two seperate crashes.

First, the driver who appears to have caused both of the wrecks, rear-ended a car. After hitting that first car, the driver fled the scene. As the suspected driver fled the scene, they crashed into a third car. The driver of the car that hit the two other vehicles died at the scene, along with their passenger, according to state police officials.

A person inside the second car that was hit was taken to an area hospital via helicopter. Their condition is unknown at this time.
