The Casey Anthony verdict will be the subject of Sunday’s ABC-7 Xtra.
The case gripped the nation and stirred up strong feelings and questions about the legal system.
A Texas state senator is promising to introduce a new law that will make it a felony for a parent or guardian not to report a missing child.
The law would be named after Caylee Anthony — the daughter of Casey Anthony.
Anthony did not report her daughter missing for more than a month. She was found not guilty this week of murder charges.
Under current Texas law, failing to report abuse or neglect is only a misdemeanor.
