Deadly Pedestrian Wreck; Family Claims Victim Was Suicidal

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly wreck involving a pedestrian.

Deputies were called out to the wreck on the 5000 block of Oleary in Montana Vista around 10 p.m. Monday.

Investigators found a man in his 30s dead at the scene.

The spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office told ABC-7 investigators believe the man was the subject of a missing person search from earlier that evening. Angelica Becerra said a family had called the sheriff’s office to report that a family member was missing and described the man as suicidal. During their search for the man, deputies were called to the scene of the wreck. Becerra told ABC-7 the family has positively identified the victim as their family member.

ABC-7 is expecting more information on this ongoing investigation today.
