Lincoln Forest Set To Reopen to Public

After recent rain showers and higher humidity readings, the Lincoln National Forest will reopen to the public on Thursday, though some fire restrictions are still in place.

The Smokey Bear and Sacramento ranger districts will be open to camping, hiking and horseback riding. The Smokey Bear Ranger District is the forest area surrounding the village of Ruidoso.

Campfires, smoking outdoors, fireworks and charcoal use are still prohibited in the forest.
