EPPD: Man Stumbled Down Street, Had Crack Cocaine On Him
El Paso Police told ABC-7 a man they spotted stumbling down a street in northeast El Paso turned out to have crack cocaine on him.
Investigators said Darnell Lewis, 27, took a small plastic baggie out of his pocket and threw it on the ground as police approached him.
The incident happened Saturday around 6:45 a.m. on the 8400 block of Dyer Street, according to police officials.
Investigators said the plastic baggie contained 4.7 grams of crack.
Lewis, who police say was intoxicated at the time, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance over 4 grams and under 200 grams.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
