Socorro Police Bust Suspected Illegal Dumpers
Socorro Police officials say they busted a trio of suspected illegal dumpers Friday night.
According to investigators, around 9 p.m., officers received a tip that sent them to a canal on the 200 block of Passmore.
Police said when they got to the scene, the found a red Chevy Tahoe hauling a trailer filled with old tires.
When officers stopped the SUV, they said the man driving admitted that he was dumping the tires along the canal bank.
Investigators said two women in the vehicle admitted the same thing.
18 tires were retrieved from the canal, according to police and the SUV was impounded.
No word yet from Socorro police on any citations or arrests.
