Man Arrested In Drive-By Shooting In Deming

Deming police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder and shooting at a dwelling. Police arrested 19-year-old Mark Facio-Valenzuela last week.

The Deming Headlight reported that investigators did not release the name of the victim, citing the ongoing investigation.

Detective Robert Orosco said there’s “no indication” the shooting was gang-related, but he added that the investigation is still under way and the department has people it needs to speak with.

The Associated Press was unable to determine early Monday whether Facio-Valenzuela has legal counsel.
