EPPD: Motorcyclist Killed; Driver Charged With DWI

Police say a 23-year-old man was thrown from his motorcycle and killed following a crash early Saturday morning in east El Paso.

El Paso police investigators were called out to the 10300 block Gateway West, near Sumac, at around 2:20 a.m.

Police told ABC-7 they believe Noe Perez, 23, was speeding along the gateway when he was hit by a car headed north on Sumac.

Perez was wearing a helmet, according to authorities.

Police said the driver of the car, 33-year-old Christopher Magana, was treated at Del Sol Medical center for minor injuries.

Investigators said, at this point, they do not believe Magana caused the crash, however he was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

Magana was booked into the El Paso County detention facility.
