A 55-year-old man was killed Saturday night as he tried to cross Dyer Street in northeast El Paso, according to police.

Investigators said David Hodges failed to yield the right-of-way to traffic and was hit by a Mitsubishi SUV at around 7:45 p.m.

The crash happened on the 5700 block of Dyer, near Broaduss Avenue.

Police tell ABC-7 that Hodges, whose address is listed as ‘General Delivery,’ died on the scene.

Investigators said no charges are pending against the driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old woman.

Police said they believe Hodges may have been drinking. The results of a toxicology report are pending.
