Man Accused Of Beating Girlfriend Turns Self In
A man accused of throwing his ex-girlfriend to the ground and repeatedly kicking her turned himself in, authorities said.
Edgar Gutierrez, who was wanted last week on charges of aggravated battery, turned himself in to Doa Ana County sheriff’s investigators Monday morning.
Investigators said Gutierrez’s ex-girlfriend was taken to an El Paso hospital with severe head trauma after she confronted him about an alleged incident involving Gutierrez and her 8-year-old daughter. Due to an ongoing investigation, a spokeswoman with the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office said she could not comment on the nature of those allegations.
Gutierrez was taken to the Doa Ana County Detention Center without incident. He is being held on a charge of aggravated battery on a household member, a third-degree felony.
