Police: Man, 20, Stabbed While Trying To Rob Group Of People
An armed robber who held up a group of people ended up getting stabbed by one his victims, according to El Paso police.
Officers in east El Paso responded to the ‘AMF Bar’ on the 11100 block of Montana just before midnight on Saturday.
Investigators said a 20-year-old man approached a group of six people outside on the bar’s patio, pulled a gun on them, and then demanded their wallets and cell phones.
According to police, as the suspect began to collect the wallets, one of the victims pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the 20-year-old.
Authorities said the victims were also able to take the gun away from the man, which turned out to be a black BB gun.
The robbery suspect was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to officials.
Investigators said he will be charged with six counts of Aggravated Robbery upon his release.
In addition, police said the suspect had outstanding warrants for Evading, Burglary of a Habitation and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
None of the victims were injured during the incident and police said none are facing any charges at this time.
