US Citizens Slain In Juarez Visited Prison

Mexican authorities said that two U.S. citizens fatally shot in Juarez last week had just picked up a released inmate at a prison when assailants opened fire on their SUV.

The Chihuahua state attorney general’s office said Friday that 19-year-old Paulo Noe Williams and his mother, 35-year-old Rosa Williams, were among four who died in the Sept. 30 attack.

The U.S. consulate said Rosa Williams was born in Juarez and became a U.S. citizen in Kansas but lived in El Paso. Paulo Noe Williams graduated from Eastwood High School.

The two were picking up 24-year-old Alberto Nieto Nieto. There was no information on why Nieto had been imprisoned. Nieto’s companion, 21-year-old Alma Yesenia Flores, also died.
