UTEP’s McCulley To Undergo Surgery On Shin

The UTEP basketball team is young, and it just got younger.

The lone senior on the team, Gabriel McCulley, will have surgery Friday on his fractured left shin.

McCulley said the injury occurred in June, and it’s been bothering him the whole time.

The forward would either have to play with pain or get a small rod inserted into his leg. And after dealing with a few official practices, he’s decided to get the procedure done this Friday.

He said he will be out six to eight weeks, but will attempt to come back earlier with aggressive rehab.
