Number Of Domestic Violence Cases Down, Records Show
The number of domestic violence cases was up for the month of September, but overall the number is down 0.5 percent compared with the number of cases at the same time last year.
The El Paso Police Department and the city of El Paso in September saw a 5.4 percent increase in the number of domestic violence cases compared with last year, with 448 cases in 2011 and 425 in 2010.
The biggest increase from the previous year was 20.9 percent for April, with 407 cases in 2010 and 492 this year.
February saw the biggest decrease in domestic violence cases from the previous year. There were 397 cases in 2010, and 364 in 2011.
March had 413 cases in both 2010 and 2011
