UPDATE: Motorcylist Hit By Teen Driver Identified

Police investigators have released the identity of the 26-year-old motorcyclist killed after colliding with a car Saturday evening in northeast El Paso.

A department spokesman said Gregory Ramirez was headed west on Hercules Avenue on his 1996 silver Kawasaki around 6:30 p.m. when he crashed into a 2007 Dodge Caliber.

Investigators said the driver of the Caliber, a 16-year-old girl, was headed south on Comet Street and pulled into the path of the motorcycle.

Ramirez was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police said he was wearing a helmet and that alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The teen girl and her passenger, a 15-year-old girl, were not injured.

Investigators told ABC-7 they are withholding the 16-year-old driver’s name because of her age.

No charges have been filed at this time.
