Las Cruces Call Center Hiring 200 New Employees

The unemployment line in the Las Cruces area is about to get a bit shorter after a local call center creates 200 new jobs.

Sitel announced it will be hiring people for full-time positions in customer service and technical support.

Director John Munoz said there is a wide range of shifts available, and people of all ages can apply. Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma, a minimum of six months’ work history and a stable employment history. The company provides new hires with extensive training, so previous experience at a call center is not required.

“It’s really a great feeling to be able to make these jobs available and to create opportunities,” Munoz told ABC-7.

Gov. Susana Martinez toured the facility Friday. She said she’s thrilled to see so much economic growth in the state.

“It’s a great sign for New Mexico as you see economic development throughout the state, and it’s good to see it in different pockets, not just in the Albuquerque metro area,” Martinez said.

Sitel will hold a job fair on April 19 at its building at 2100 Summit Court from 3 to 7 p.m. Those interested in working for the company can also apply online at www.sitel.com.
