Vince Perez defeats Chente Quintanilla in Democratic Commissioners Court Precinct 3 runoff race

Vincent Perez has defeated Chente Quintanilla in the El Paso County Commissioners Precinct 3 Democratic runoff race.

Perez had 2690 votes (57 percent) and Quintanilla has 2064 votes (43 percent).

The winner will face Republican Fred Chavez in the November election.

The candidates are competing for the seat vacated by Willie Gandara Jr.

Gandara Jr. resigned his seat earlier this year after being charged with federal drug charges.

Tonia Chozet was appointed by El Paso County Judge Veronica Escobar to fill the seat on a temporary basis pending the election.
