I have both government and business experience (domestic & internationally)
I favor pragmatism over idealism on either extreme
Relevant experience that qualifies you for the position you seek?
I have public, private, and community experience. I believe in bridge building and understand that all of these communities want the same things but speak a different language; I will ensure there is effective dialogue to work together.
If you had the chance to revoke one ordinance in El Paso immediately upon taking office, which one would it be.
I think it is irresponsible to try to revoke any one ordinance immediately upon election. It is not pragmatic or prudent to make these suggestions until we are in office and better understand the Why’s and Why-Nots.
Describe a moment that changed your life.
Cancer – I was a Junior in high school. It makes you question your contribution to life, family, and community. It makes you understand the value of “doing the right thing” and helping others who cannot help themselves.
My son’s Birth – parents are directly responsible for tomorrow’s successes and setbacks.
In what way is El Paso on the right track, and in what ways does it need to change course?
Right Track – Beautification
Wrong Track – Divisions, demonizing, and demagoguery
If elected, how will you balance the needs of family, your career and your office?
I will step away from my business and focus on City Council – I love my family and I will spend the same amount of time with them as any other professional does.
I am no stranger to hard work and juggling duties. My entire academic career has seen full time classes and full time work schedules. When and why did you come to El Paso?
When and Why did you come to El Paso?
I became a resident in 2008 after my wife and I formally decided we would get married. After considering our options, which included job offers in Washington D.C., Austin, Houston, and Dallas, we chose El Paso. We knew starting a business here would be much harder than accepting a job in any other city. However, the challenge made our decision much easier; we understood the generational gap between business owners was very large and we wanted to create something that we could be proud of.
