Court documents detail alleged break-in, brutal rape

Court documents detail an alleged June break-in and violent rape by a man police call the “Manhattan Heights Sex Predator.”
The arrest affidavit for 24-year-old Arturo Valtierra-Payan obtained by the ABC-7 iTeam gives first-hand by the victim of that night, including how he stormed into the her home and allegedly beat, raped and threatened to kill her.
The woman said she was watching TV in her her living room when she kept hearing noises in her empty house that night
She told detectives a window kept mysteriously opening after she had made sure she had shut it.
When her dog started barking in the direction of the backyard, she went to the kitchen and noticed the window again was open.
The woman checked the rest of the locks and turned on the front porch light. That’s when she said she saw a man duck and hide.
Moments later, a masked man kicked in the front door.
She told detectives she screamed and tried to fight him off and even grabbed the bandana covering the his face.
When the woman saw his face, she said he told her, “I’m going to kill you.”
The woman said Valtierra then punched her in the face started choking her before raping her.
Valtierra was arrested days later. He’s been charged with a burglary, though police have said the more serious charges are expected.
Valtierra has not been arraigned, and there is no date set for an arraignment.
Police there were four similar attacks Manhattan Heights, where Valtierra lives.
