Ramirez Storms to Victory

After a one-over 74 in round one, Aries Ramirez fired off a four-under 69 in round two to win the Sun City Women’s Championship at Coronado Country Club.

With a two day total of 143 (74-69) Ramirez stormed to an 11-stroke victory over her former Eastwood High School teammate Amber Herrera.

Herrera who will be a sophomore at UTEP in the fall was the round one leader after carding a one-under 72 Thursday. In round two Herrera was often in trouble which lead to her shooting a 9-over 82 on Friday.

Herrera finished in second at 8-over par for the tournament.
