Miners Win Third In a Row

The UTEP Miners started the Holiday week with a 70-55 win over Montana State (5-6) to improve to 8-5 on the year.

In front of 6,875 Miners fans, UTEP players started off fast in the first half out scoring the Bobcats 40-23. UTEP shot 50% (6-12) from beyond the arc in the first half, and three of those were from CJ Cooper who had nine points on the night.

Julian Washburn scored a game high 20 points as well as pulled down four rebounds in the win. Cedrick Lang who did not start in the game, had a double-double scoring 10 points to go with his game high 13 rebounds.

UTEP is off until Saturday. Over the weekend the Miners will host the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational.
