Schwartz expected to enter plea today

Marc Schwartz, the former public relations consultant for Access Healthsource, is scheduled to appear before Federal Judge Frank Montalvo Friday afternoon.

He is facing several fraud charges, including racketeering and attempt and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

Schwartz built a career as serving as the face and voice for entities such as the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo (Tigua) and the National Center for the Employment of the Disabled.

Federal investigators alleged that when Schwartz worked as the public relations consultant for Access Healthsource, he and Access CEO Frank Apodaca worked with others to convince trustees and elected officials of government entities to choose Access as their health care provider.

Schwartz is scheduled to appear in federal court Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., where he is expected to enter a plea. Usually, suspects enter guilty pleas in these types of hearings.

ABC-7 will have a crew in the courtroom and will update this story in our afternoon and evening newscasts, as well as on kvia.com.
