Collections, landfill to remain open on Fourth of July

Residents planning to clean up their garage during this Fourth of July holiday will not have any problems disposing of their junk at the El Paso landfill.

The city’s Environmental Services Department announced collections and landfill operations will not be impacted during the Independence Day holiday.

Trash and recyclables will be picked up as scheduled.

The Greater El Paso Landfill at 2300 Darrington Road will be opened as usual, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., during the holiday.

However, the five Citizen Collection Stations, or drop-off sites, will be closed. They will reopen on Thursday.
