El Paso corrections officer dies in New Mexico crash
A 56-year-old El Paso corrections officer was killed in a crash late Saturday afternoon near Los Lunas, New Mexico.
Reports show Manuel Fernandez most likely fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of his Ford F-150 and swerved onto the median.
He then overcorrected and the truck rolled over. A passenger, 30-year-old Virginia Rodriguez, also of El Paso, survived and was taken to a hospital in Albuquerque.
