El Paso Police identify motorcyclist killed in Friday morning wreck
Oct. 29, 2012 update: El Paso Police have identified the man killed on his motorcycle Friday morning as 24-year-old Dmond White of the 1500 block of Avalon in El Paso. The single-vehicle crash occured on Loop 375.
Oct. 26, 2012 story:A motorcyclist was killed just after midnight Friday morning on the southbound lanes of Loop 375 near Montana in far east El Paso County.
Our Round the Clock crew talked with police on the scene. They tell us the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, and flew off the bike. Our crew also witnessed emergency crews handling the victim’s head, which had been decapitated in the course of the accident. However, police have not made any comment as to how that happened.
Northbound traffic was already being forced to exit the highway before the Montana exit because of road work.
Now , a police spokesman confirms the southbound lanes of Loop 375 will also be closed until after 7 a.m. Friday. Special Traffic Investigators will be gathering evidence at the scene of the deadly wreck.
Motorists on post at Fort Bliss, as well as those in northeast and far east El Paso, are urged to find an alternate route to work Friday morning.
