Man sentenced to life in death of Las Cruces Realtor

Mario Mendez, the man accused of shooting to death and setting on fire a Las Cruces Realtor, today pleaded to the crime.

Mendez was sentenced to life in prison plus 25 years in prison for the murder of 62-year-old Jack Hadley in September of 2011.

Investigators said Mendez shot Hadley nine times and set the room on fire in an attempt to cover up the death. It happened in Hadley’s upscale home on Camino Escondida.
