Reese family attorney asks for release
Attorneys for the Reese family are asking they be released from jail.
Rick and Ryin Reese are currently behind bars after the fallout from a lawsuit claiming the Reese family dealt weapons to Mexican drug cartels.
The Southern New Mexico family were acquitted of the most serious charges in August, but the father and son are in jail now for making false statements on federal firearms sales forms.
Their attorney claims that prosecutors failed to release key documents during the trial.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney would not comment, stating that most of the documents related to the case are sealed.
Terri Reese is currently awaiting sentencing for a lesser charge as well.
