2012 story: El Paso Safe Roads website offers options to avoid driving drunk

Law enforcement have made El Paso County a “No Refusal” DWI county.

Since late November, suspected drunk drivers will now have to give an involuntary blood sample if they refuse a breathalyzer test.

As part of the “No Refusal” DWI enforcement announcement, El Paso Safe Roads multimedia campaign was launched that recognizes December as National Impaired Driving Prevention Month.

Over this past weekend, 25 people were arrested by El Paso Police within a 24-hour-period for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated.
